How do I know what age group my child is?
Your child’s age group is determined by his/her age on the 31st of December of that year.
What is GYMSA?
Gymnastics South Africa. Our local federation who oversees the administrative and ruling functions of gymnastics in order to keep things fair, competitive and legal.
What does CTGA stand for?
Cape Town Gymnastics Association (our district).
What does WCGA stand for?
Western Cape Gymnastics Association (our province).
What gymnastics disciplines are offered at Brawns Gymnastics?
We offer WAG, MAG, Tumbling and DMT.
What does MAG mean?

Men’s Artistic Gymnastics.
Brawns offers MAG classes from the age of 3 years.

What does WAG mean?

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
Brawns offers WAG classes from the age of 3 years.

At what age can my little one start gymnastics?

We take boys and girls from the age of 3 years.

What is the maximum number of gymnasts per group?
We have a coach to gymnast ratio of no more than 8 gymnasts per coach.

What are the opening hours at the Retreat branch?

  • Monday 12:45 – 19:00
  • Tuesday 12:45 – 18:30
  • Wednesday 12:45 – 19:30
  • Thursday 13:00 – 18:30
  • Friday 12:45 – 18:00
  • Thursday Saturday 09:00 – 12:00
Am I allowed to watch my child’s class?

We encourage you to drop and go. When at gymnastics the children need to learn to look for our trust and encouragement.

If you would like to watch a lesson, please contact Derryn via email info@brawnsgymnastics.co.za to arrange a day.

We do have an open-door policy at Brawns but do not have the space in the gym to have too many parents watching at one time 😊

What happens if my child is not able to make his/her lesson?

Please call Jody on 086 137 0311 (during opening hours only) or email Derryn at info@brawnsgymnastics.co.za to let us know that your son/daughter will not attend.

We do not do make-up lessons if your child misses due to family holidays, family events, school sports matches or functions, injury or illness.

Our classes are full, and we don’t have the capacity to do make-up lessons.

No fees will be refunded/reduced for lessons missed due to the above.
